The 2014 Nanten2 Consortium Workshop (3-4 Feb.)
Background
This workshop will update the sub-mm radio astronomy activties of the Nanten2 consortium and bring the membership together
to discuss future plans. The first day (3 Feb.- Seacliff Beach Hotel)
will be devoted to status reports from Nanten2 observations, as well as opportunities to learn more about Nanten2, its operation and
data reduction. The second day (4 Feb.) at the University of Adelaide North Tce. Campus, will be devoted to broader science topics
addressed by Nanten2 (and likely other mm telescopes like Mopra).
Venues, Accomodation
In order to highlight the beautiful southern metropolitan beaches of Adelaide, the workshop will take place at the
Seacliff Beach Hotel (first day 3 Feb.) and then,
the University of Adelaide North Tce. Campus. (second day 4 Feb.).
We have made reservations (arrive 2 Feb., depart 4 Feb.) in a number of cabins for about 20-25 people at the
Brighton Caravan Park about 300m south of the Seacliff Beach Hotel.
We recommend a 2 nights stay to enjoy the beachside atmosphere and to get an early start on 3 Feb!
The only practical (~20 min walk) nearby alternative accomodation is the Esplanade Hotel
on Jetty Rd, Brighton Beach (at the end of the Brighton Jetty)
about 1200 m north of the Seacliff Beach Hotel. We have pre-booked 5 single rooms ($70 per night). Our preference is to accomodate
everyone at the Brighton Caravan Park as it's much closer to the Hotel but if you really prefer this option, please contact
Gavin Rowell.

Aquatic Fun! (3 Feb.)
Following the tradition of the 2013 meeting held at StKilda/Swinburne
we have organised some watersports activity for 3 Feb. - stand-up paddle
boarding and/or kayaking (see here).
