Bio
Current Position:
- Post Doctoral Research Associate, CSSM
Career Biography:
I started my Bachelor of Science degree in 2002. While studying for this degree I participated in many
University social clubs, including the presidency of the science club (SPACED) and beer appreciation club (Stein Club).
I graduated from this degree in 2004.
In 2005 I completed my Honours year (graduating with first-class Honours) with the CSSM,
producing a thesis based on my research of Quantum Hadrodynamics (QHD)
and neutron star structure, supervised by Dr. A. C. Kalloniatis and Prof. A. G. Williams.
In 2006 I started my PhD, supervised by Prof. A. G. Williams. and Prof. D. B. Leinweber.
This research focussed on the latest incarnation of the Quark-Meson Coupling (QMC) model as
an extension of QHD [in that a quadratic dependence on the applied scalar field is the only
differentiating feature between the two models] with the assistance received from
Prof. A. W. Thomas [Jefferson Lab, VA].
My PhD is now complete, and I am currently a post-doctoral research associate with the CSSM.
Current research interests:
Topics of special interest include:
- Dense Matter
- Neutron Star Matter
- Quantum Hadrodynamics
- Quark-Meson Coupling Model
- Nambu-Jona-Lasinio Model
- Equation of State
