The Fool represents the seeker
after knowledge; At the beginning of the Major Arcana he is an
innocent about to fall into a world of self-discovery. It is here that I have hidden information about
myself.
The Magician represents the Fool
transformed; he has achieved power over the physical
world only to discover that all such power is ultimately
an ephemeral illusion. It is here that I have hidden the things
that I have done.
The Hanged Man often represents
enlightenment, such as that achieved by Odin when he hung upon
Yggdrasil for nine days and nine nights. Often enlightenment is
not a pleasant experience. It is here that I have hidden things
that I have given thought to.
The Queen of Swords best represents a sharp and cutting
intellect. It is because of this that she is, however, usually very
lonely. It is here that I have hidden my friends.
The Knight of Swords is the
archetypical youthful warrior, skilled at arms and honourable to a
fault. It is here that I have hidden my adventures in The
Web.
The Fool can appear at the end of the
Major Arcana as well as the beginning. Here he represents the Wise
Fool, who knows that there is still so much left to learn. Even I
have yet to discover what I have hidden here.
