ACTIVITIES
The following activities are being developed by WISER:
- Space Environment Net
- Virtual library of space environment research
- Virtual library of computer codes
- E-lecture courses of space environment
- Advanced schools on computational and space sciences
- Workshops and Symposia
WISER activities in 2003
-
Tokyo-Adelaide Workshop, 6-10 Jannuary 2003, University of Tokyo, Japan.
This workshop was organized jointly by the Faculty of Sciences of the University
of Tokyo, the ARC Special Research Centre for the Subatomic Structure of
Matter (CSSM) of the University of Adelaide and WISER.
- NITP Summer
School 2003, 28-31 Jannuary 2003, University of Adelaide Australia.
The aim of the NITP School is to present topics in Theoretical Physics
at a level suited to postgraduate students and to researchers who may not
necessarily be specialists in the discipline. To this end they are meant
to be a school and not a conference or workshop, with a mix of both lecture
series intended to develop topics starting from a relatively introductory
level, and single talks on more specific contemporary subjects of interest.
WISER activities in 2002
The detailed description of the three WISER conferences
(ALFVÉ
N2002, WSEF2002, HPC2002) held in 2002 can be
found by downloading the PS (2.8M)
or PDF (386K)
files of the Programme and Abstract Book.
WISER Workshop
on Space Environment Turbulence - ALFVEN2002, 22 June 2002, CNR/Pisa,
Italy In collaboration with the Institute
of Chemical and Physical Proccesses - IPCF of the Italian National Research
Council in Pisa, WISER organised the First WISER Workshop on Space Environment
Turbulence - ALFVEN2002 to review recent advances in the theory of waves,
instabilities and turbulence in space plasmas and atmospheres.
World
Space Environment Forum - WSEF2002, 21-25 July 2002, Adelaide University,
Australia. In collaboration with the National
Institute for Theoretical Physics - NITP of Adelaide University, WISER is
organising the First World Space Environment Forum. This conference will
review the state-of-the art of space environment research and identify the
key problems in solar-terrestrial connection to be addressed by the international
space science and plasma physics community in the coming years, with emphasis
on theory, modelling, data analysis, and prediction. It will also provide
a forum for elaborating international collaboration programmes on research
and training in space environment. Download the conference
presentations and read the WSEF2002 resolutions .
WISER
Workshop on High Performance Computing in Space Environment Research -
HPC2002 , 29 July-2 August 2002, Adelaide University, Australia
. This is a follow-up workshop of WSEF2002, organised
jointly with the National Institute for Theoretical Physics - NITP and
the Centre for High Performance Computing and Applications - CHPCA of Adelaide
University. It will consist of mini-courses and lectures on high performance
computing and computer simulation in space environment research. The information
for this workshop can be found in the conference web page of the WSEF2002.
