Research Interests

Prof. Tony Williams has interests in: theoretical, computational, and mathematical physics; complex and nonlinear systems; and advanced, high-performance, and grid computing. His research is primarily in the areas of theoretical particle and nuclear physics.

Topics of special interest include:

  • Understanding the nonperturbative behaviour of QCD and QED
  • Lattice gauge theory
  • Interpolating between quark models and perturbative QCD
  • Strangeness in nucleons and nuclei; hypernuclei
  • Modification of nucleon form factors in the nuclear medium
  • Tests and consequences of fundamental symmetries
  • Quark-hadron phase transition and heavy ion collisions
  • Models of nonperturbative QCD; effective meson-baryon models
