Both oral and poster papers are invited, covering experimental activity, theory and modelling, and applications.

Contributors are also invited to consider presenting written versions of their papers for publication in a special 11th AOS conference issue of the UK journal Optical and Quantum Electronics, which is scheduled to appear in 1998. All manuscripts, which should be prepared in advance and presented at the workshop venue, will be reviewed by two external referees

Overview talks by prominent researchers within Australia and overseas are anticipated. Speakers include Prof Michael Roggemann (Michigan Technological University and Wright Patterson AFB), Prof John Thomas (University of South Australia), Dr Bob Seymour (DSTO Electronics & Surveillance Res Lab), Prof Jeffrey Shapiro (Massachussetts Institute of Technology), Dr Garry Newsam (DSTO Electronics & Surveillance Res Lab), Prof Bobby Hunt (University of Arizona, Optical Sciences Center), Dr Min Gu (Victoria University).
