Topical Workshop on Hadrons in Dense Matter

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The details of how to register are given at the end of this document. It would be helpful if all registrations could be received by March 4, 1997.

Location:

Purpose: This is meant to be a true workshop in the sense that sufficient time will be made available each day for discussions which may develop into collaborative projects. In fact, there should usually be no more than two lectures per day. The aim is to bring together many of the key researchers actively exploring how the properties of hadrons may change in dense matter and how one might test these predictions. At present we expect the following overseas participants:

M. Birse (Manchester)
R. Brockmann (Mainz)
G. Brown (Stony Brook)
M. Ericson (Lyon/CERN)
T. Ericson (CERN)
P. Guichon (Saclay)
T. Hatsuda (Tsukuba)
G. Lolos (Regina)

The working facilities, including the computing resources, are excellent.

Registration Fee: There will be a registration fee of A$75 (A$50 for students). This includes coffee breaks amongst other things. No proceedings are planned for the workshop.

Available Support: Some support may be available for local expenses, especially for students.

Accommodation: For a detailed list of hotels and other types of accommodation in Adelaide click on the following text: Accommodation in Adelaide. For various other local information click on the text: Local Information for Visitors to Adelaide.

The preferred hotel, just two minutes walk from the Institute and in the centre of the city is the Richmond Hotel, Rundle Mall, where we have negotiated a special rate of A$80 per night.

For wealthier participants the Hyatt would be an interesting experience.

An example of the cheaper form of accommodation is that which is located at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (again 2 minutes walk from the Institute):

  • single room with shared facilities - A$18 (full-time student - A$11) per night
  • single room with ensuite - A$45 per night

It is also possible to arrange beachfront accommodation about 10km (45 mins travelling time) from the Institute.

The registration can be paid on arrival at the Centre. To express interest in attending the Topical Workshop on Hadrons in Dense Matter and to be included in the mailing list for any future notices regarding it please either:
