15.1 Accompanying Persons Program/Tours
The following tours are being organised by Tourabout Adelaide. Registration of interest (including number of persons wishing to attend) is sought on the Quark Nuclear Physics Registration Form. Payment for any tours may be made on-site at the Hilton Hotel on Sunday evening (20 February), and during normal business hours on Monday 21 February and certain times on Tuesday 22 February. All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars. A representative from Tourabout Adelaide will be available during the times stated above, to answer any queries about their tours and will be able to provide general information about sightseeing around Adelaide and its environs.
Monday 21 February, 2000 (half-day) - Heritage Adelaide (Tour 1)
Adelaide's grace and charm lies in its elegant bluestone buildings set in beautiful parks and gardens. In the company of a local Guide, come and discover its history and cultural heritage. Your tour includes:

- The city square mile, with its distinctive parks and gardens
- Heritage buildings, with outstanding interiors
- North Adelaide, with its beautiful bluestone mansions and small cottages, set in wide leafy streets
- A look beyond the obvious along North Terrace, Adelaide's cultural boulevard

Tuesday, 22 February, 2000 (half-day) - Aboriginal Culture: Kurrendi Kamanga (Tour 2)
This walking tour in the company of an Aboriginal guide gives you an insight into Aboriginal culture. Start with a Bush Tucker Walk in the Botanic Gardens and discover how native plants were used in traditional Aboriginal culture for food, medicine, weapons and culture. Follow with food tasting and morning tea. Finally visit Tandanya, for a look at contemporary Aboriginal art and a didgeridoo performance.

Tuesday, 22 February, 2000 (evening) - Warrawong at Sunset (Tour 3)
Come and experience the magic of the Australian bush setting of Warrawong Sanctuary. A specialist guide will introduce you to some of the endangered species of Australia that roam freely in this protected environment. Dinner at Warrawong is included.

Thursday, 24 February, 2000 (half-day) - Adelaide Hills - Secrets and Surprises (Tour 4)
Only half an hour from the centre of Adelaide, the Mount Lofty Ranges offer visitors a delightful collection of places to visit with a distinctly South Australian flavour. Highlights include:

- The Cedars - a guided tour of the home, studio and garden of the famous Australian landscape artist, Sir Hans Heysen, including morning refreshment.
- Hahndorf - settled by German pioneers and now has many of its historic buildings converted into shops and galleries. There will be time to browse in this delightful township.

Friday, 25 February, 2000 (1.5 hours, early morning) - Bush Tucker Walk (Tour 5)
In the company of an Aboriginal guide, start this day with an early morning Bush Tucker Walk in the Botanic Gardens. You will be given an insight into Aboriginal culture through the native flora. An "alfresco" breakfast is included.
