Where to get help

Hopefully most questions can be cleared up by browsing these pages. If the answer to your question is not obvious then try one of the following.

Administration staff running Windows on their computers should contact ITS helpdesk on 33000 or email helpdesk@adelaide.edu.au in the first instance, since ITS is managing their computers.

Unix users and research staff using Windows can email Jonathan Woithe, Ramona Adorjan or Jeff Borkent for assistance with almost anything - particularly hardware faults, problems with your account, software you need loaded, etc. Ramona is based in CSSM and deals mainly with CSSM needs, Jeff is based in Chemistry and Jonathan is in room 213 of the Oliphant wing. Jonathan is only on campus on Wednesdays but is in email contact every day and can often sort problems out remotely. If you need to reach someone by telephone, the numbers are

These people prefer emails, but if there is no alternative or the situation is difficult to describe you're more than welcome to phone or to come and see someone personally.

Keep in mind that while these people install all the software, they generally do not USE the software, and so you will find members of your group a better source of information for a particular package.
